Testing urine for a UTI is still grossly underperformed in general practice, especially for subclinical UTIs as there are no outward clinical signs. U-treat technology offers a solution to this problem by allowing vets to test for a bacterial UTI in dogs and cats without the wait.
U-treat is a simple 2 step process:
- Test 1: detects the presence of bacteria (5 minutes)
- Test 2: determines antibiotic susceptibility (30 minutes)
(Please note, Test 2 only needs to be run on ‘positive’ Test 1 samples.)
